I bought these to replace a beloved pair of Bass Ely oxfords (which don't come in black anymore for some inexplicable reason GRR) and I don't know, maybe I'm looking for these to be those shoes. There's just something weird about these shoes. I have a narrow foot, so maybe that's it, but the length is right, the width is right at the ankle and ball of the foot, but past that and towards the toes there's a ton of room in there. I think if I sized down the shoe would be too tight, since it fits well everywhere else. I don't know, for $98 and a brand I never really heard of, I'm just not crazy about them, lol. Plus they're not suede like I expected (is this noted anywhere in the product information?), they're nubuck. Nubuck is ok with me but, eh, lol. Plus the bottoms aren't all that great. I have hardwood floors and I'm sliding on them in these shoes, so I'm a bit afraid of what will happen should I go out in the rain, for instance. Meh. They do seem like nice, well-constructed shoes, though, so maybe give them a go; as for me though I think I'll send them back.
